Last night I went to watch Moana 2 in the theaters. It was wonderful. As we left the theater my friend and I discussed how powerful and clear the message of unity was in the movie. I thought that is was not only a beautiful message but we both agreed that this was a perfect way to share the message.
I found various synchronicities within the movie that directly related to my own life, as many things do. While watching I saw how Moana was driven by the longing in her spirit. She was able to get carried away to new adventures and lands because she was willing to give up control and give into her spirit. Within the movie I saw the theme of commitment. Not only to ourselves but also to other people. It was comical and funny but also brought to light a real subject. Community. Community is a commitment to yourselves as well as others. It is not only based in ourselves, it is also based in our connection to others as well. When we have faith, grace and trust, we can move mountains. Together we are stronger.
In the movie I also saw that Moana was committed to her journey. Even when it was hard and she plunged forward. As a true leader she apologized for the hurt that was experienced and found a way to stand tall and mend any division or pain that had been created through the journey. Moana inspired others to come along by being passionate about the good of all. This was a selfless act on her part. She decided to put her pride and fears aside and went towards her dreams no matter what anyone thought about it.
Finally, opening our hearts to the possibilities of the future. As the Guinea Pig from my animal oracle deck directed. Open your heart and be vulnerable. When we are vulnerable, we can create true and meaningful connection that no one can replace. Your unique and loving energy is one of a kind. When you build relationships that are strong and connected through the good, the hard, and the neutral, you have a real bond that is not easily broken by rough waters.
I hope you enjoyed today’s video and there wasn’t too much spoiling of the movie for those that have not yet watched it.
Let’s go into the New Year with love in our hearts, hope in the future, and strength to weather any storm.
With Love,
Erika Olivas
